Autumn was always my favorite season and I love adding pumpkins to our decor to bring the changing season into the home. To cut costs this autumn I will head to my local dollar store is a great place to find holiday decor. You’ll find pumpkins, leaves, seasonal knick knacks etc. Find those pieces that you love that you’ll want to use year after year. The Target dollar spot is also a great place to look for inexpensive decor.
Make Your Hot Beverages at Home
It’s so tempting to drive through Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts this time of year to enjoy a warm beverage. Pumpkin Spice Latte anyone? Ordering your favorite seasonal beverage can set you back upwards of $5 each trip. If you drink one every day that is $35. Over the course of 3 months that is over $400. Instead, try making your favorite hot beverages at home. You’ll save yourself hundreds of dollars on coffee. Even better, you’ll be able to control the ingredients used in the beverage so you can make it as healthy (or not) as you want. I am not much of a coffee drinker but I do enjoy a good hot chocolate. A warm beverage is a perfect addition to a cold afternoon!
Look for Local Free Activities
Visiting the pumpkin patch or taking a hayride can get expensive. Look for local activities that are free or inexpensive. This time of year you’ll find fall festivals and activities.
